About Us

About Us

Brodies Timber was established in 2012 at the site in Inver long known as the sawmill for the local forestry and estates, when horses would pull in the timber logs and the water mill would power the saws.

Having now had more than 10 years trading on the site, we have grown an experienced and highly skilled team who work on bespoke joinery projects, machining and supply of a large range of timber and timber products. We look forward to supplying you with the bespoke jonery products and timber supplies we have become known for.

Customer Reviews

“Today, sustainable production has to be proved and the proof lies in third party certification. This is a two-stage process:

  • Forest management certification and.
  • Wood product or chain of custody certification.

Forest management certification involves the independent third-party certification of forest management practices according to a set of standards which are measured against actual practice. Wood product certification involves a verification of the chain of custody “from forest gate to finished product” and aims to prove that a wood product bearing a label lives up to the claims being made on that label. The two major players in this market place are the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Pan European Forest Certification (PEFC).”

As a member of Trada, Brodies Timber looks towards their research into timber forestry and the timber industry as a whole.

We take our position seriously as a retailer of timber, and will always seek assurances from our suppliers on their chain of custody certification. Wherever possible we will supply FSC and PEFC accredited timber, timber products and sheet materials.

Brodies Timber is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable working environment for our staff, and we believe in taking measures to make our business as gentle on the environment as possible.

We use our timber off cuts to fuel our heating systems, carefully select our timber and sheet materials to customer’s requirements to minimalise wastage, and wherever possible, use recyclable packaging materials.
